PAINTING ALASKAN WATERS

Its a challenge to paint in the cold...your  water  freezes..your  fingers  freeze...gloves  are bulky and you have a hard time holding the paint  brush....

a good  tip  is to bring  a thermos of hot water...you can  add  it to  your watercolor paints  or your  acrylics and keep them moist...the cold air  dries  very quickly too...so  avoid  too much  detail  or the image  freezes before you are through painting...  You can always  go  back in when in the studio and use a rapidograph pen to  bring in the small details later...
